We've been busy the past few days (it's now Thursday evening). I'll do a quick recap of Tuesday and Wednesday here and then tomorrow morning I'll tell you about our day today.
If you know anything about us, you know we love craft beer. And we've been delightfully rewarded for our snobbery all over the world thanks to the "we wanna be like America and make some really good beers" attitude that seems to be spanning the globe.
We went drinking Tuesday.
Oh, you want more detail? We went drinking Tuesday night. We found a craft beer bar that has a really good selection, so we indulged.
Wednesday, we got up early and took the train to Málaga. Málaga is about an hour south of Córdoba. It's a fairly sized metropolitan/international city. A big stop on cruise ships, it has a lovely beach, and amazing Cathedral, an huge Alcazar (palace or Moorish fortress), and tons of shops, bars, and restaurants. It also is the birthplace of Pablo Picasso; so natch we went to the Picasso Museum. Simply stunning.

Apologies for the cropping - my laptop seems to have a mind of its own. Anyway, the collection is brilliant and has many pieces I'd never seen before. Just amazing.
We strolled around and found some more great Spanish architecture.
St. Augustine Church
The Málaga Cathedral
Bell Tower
The Alcazar
And some Roman architecture. This ampitheater is right in the middle of the old town.
Good street art
And this guy who serenaded us while we were eating lunch.
Cafes litter the sidewalks, shops have fabulous window dressings (more shoe shops than I have ever seen), and there are street performers are everywhere. Their music and the music I hear in the lively conversations all around me make me think this would be a wonderful place to wake up in every day.
We spent a large part of the afternoon in a craft beer bar. Feels a little like home.
Off to sleep this evening. Tomorrow I'll tell you about our tour of an 8th century archaeological site and a lovely castle.
